Discerning the nature of creator
By his creation, one finds signs
Sculpture, snapshots fallen from wallet
The curve, a sigh, an arm, a thigh
But I stumble on the rumble of action
the animals; their ways (our ways?)
Most disturbed by the message of Mrs. Preying Mantis
Consuming her consort to the waist
While he still throbs
Lesson, or warning?

Mantises and spiders
Dragonflies and man
Male-eating beasts of nature
Who grab it while they can

Wow! I think the mantis and the hummingbird get at me the most. I caught a hummingbird in my hand one on a dare. It kind of freaked me out that I could actually grab it while it was dining on some flowers. I released it immediately. Your piece showed me that once again you can take about any proposition presented to you and make it a poem. I still want to talk to you about some theological thoughts you shared with me lately but have been tied up at work. I haven't forgotten you at all my friend. RC
