Earthy curls,
Tiwst and flicker,
Steal the auburn coloured light
So they'll shine and dull
On sadder days.
Flicker swing,
Swinging thing,
She swings to her knees and opens her palms
Trying to grasp something not there
I saw you lay them on his grave,
I'm sorry I wasn't there.
I don't think I'll ever be in the Glasses Crowd,
For who can catch the way the light
Shone and flickered
Off the rims
Of his golden spectacles
The way it shimmered in his golden eyes
When he laughed.
Flicker swing,
Swinging thing,
She swings to her knees and opens her palms
Trying to grasp something not there anymore.
And when the tears come down,
It's like the rain's come down,
The dampness
Pulls
On my feelings for you,
I can't
Stay to watch your reserve being split
But still -
I want to see you lying them on his grave,
And know that I feel for you.
It's like trying to pull the tears from your
Rain drenched hair.
Flicker swing,
Swinging thing,
She swings to her knees and opens her palms
Trying to grasp something not there anymore
Please tell me what you think
