Then, I could blame it on the distance?
Or on the years between our ages...?
What can I say when "sorry" doesn't cut it?
What can I say when I've wounded you so?
How can I make amends for the words I said
when the winds of pain have began to blow.
I don't like having to admit I'm wrong
or having to admit I might have lost you
Once a flame, the embers die
And it takes all I know, just to get through.
Once a lover, now lost; distant from me
I've already hurt so much through this
I don't feel strength to hurt more from this
I just want to say "I'm sorry" don't hate me.
I'm sorry, those words weren't meant to hurt you.

This is very heartfelt, and that has some beauty to it. Honestly I know not who you're talking about and I've now got a wee bit of curiousity, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a nice poem.
