valiant was an investigator with a taste for the drink
hired to catch her playing paddy cake
they called her kid she had cherry red lips
drank shirley temples and sang at the local speak easy
always served the liquor hot with a cool shoulder
lusty with a sultry laugh to shimmy along your skin
she could walk into the room and make every mans head turn
but valiant couldn't be seduced by those smokey eyes
too bad she disappeared after the string of murders
having to track her down was like following a shadow
word at the local pub was that her husband was a shoe in
drawn to the monkey business of acting hired by the boss
but the kid was caught in a cover up of lies
rumor was that there was another murder going down
and she owned a blood red dress
valiant was hired to catch the killer
the paper said the kids boss was dirty
mixed up in some disappearing ink along
with a mysterious will
but who knew he ended up dead along with the others
was it the dame or was it the kids husband
out to get vengeance for a night of paddy cake with the kid
it was up to valiant to find out

The minute I read the first two lines in the intro, I knew it was based on 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'. Well done. It sure fits the era and the mood. I love the mix that you invovled here. Wonderfully written. Keep the ink flowing. Love ans hugs...

hmmm I like this, I like how you expressed it in prose. a night of paddy cake with the kid, good figurative word usage. I can feel the cloak and dagger of it. Keep writing and thanks for sharing it.
