Inner peace and freedom
exist in all mankind
Open your eyes breathe in
the beauty held deep inside
Mother Earth surrounds us
her open arms await
Peace is on the horizon
life is what you make
Never take life for granted
count your blessings each day
Find the hidden joys in each moment
meet your enemies halfway
Remember the key to forgiveness
lays deep within your heart
Forgive those who have hurt you
but with yourself you must start
Tranquility and inner peace
are never far away
It is how we handle our lives
that leads us all astray

I wrote this poem based on how I wish I could live each day I am still searching for my inner peace hopefully one day I will find it. My past always seems to invade.

That is so beautiful Theresa. All of it. So full of love and compassion. I liked the "meet your enemies half way" part, and the second to the last stanza;

"but with yourself you must start" - yes, that is very true; we have to begin with forgiving and loving ourselves before we can others. Very nice, and best of luck in the contest my sweet friend! -

picture prompt and I love the contents of this
write. It is so important for us all to open
up our eyes and hearts to everyone around us.
If we all took a moment and looked deep within
our souls, I am sure that we would all find
a little tranquility and joy.
Sometimes it's so easy to forget to laugh and
smile. Life can be very challenging and stressful
leaving one lost in confusion. We should always
remember to smile and encourage others to do so
