From far away
it is hard to see
the appeal
and I have
never been close
but the appeal
is there
and real
Something says
this is right
but
something else says
this is wrong
what should I do
would I spoil things?
Hurt people?
I cannot say
I must not do
but
I want to,
don't you?

The short lines emphasise the indecision of the speaker. It is as though you are retreating and advancing. Nothing spectacular about the language, but the poem is just right.

I am confused. I don't do hints well. You got anything else?

Who says it was to you?
-
-
Not me. I told you I don't understand it. What did you think I meant?

Well if the hint isn't to you, I maybe wouldn't have anything else for you. On the other hand I didn't say it wasn't to you. If I had three hands I could on the one say who says it is a hint?
Or you could read the poem and decide.
