Sacrifice

On the altar
the sacrifice's
body and blood
are offered to their god.

What will that loving god
do with these gifts?

Doesn't that deity already have
all the the fertiliser needed
to properly maintain
the heavenly flower garden?

Wow... this is a very confronting poem... I really like the transition from bloody sacrifices to heavenly flowers... more imagery could have improved the overall impact of this poem - but this is good the way it is thank you for entering this contest!
