Happiness (NON-ENTRY)

Missing image
~ . ~

Enjoy yourself, embrace your dreams,
know that life's not what it seems.

Be grateful for each brand new day,
Fend for yourself..for others, pray.

Become immersed in what you do,
then happiness will come to you.

Maureen Halasovski - May 16, 2008

Author notes

David Archuleta is a special person who wants to make a difference in the world. He cares about other people and nothing pleases him more than making others feel good. (He makes me happy!)

"Happiness is a by-product that comes from being content with who you are, liking what you do and loving who you're with."

Maureen

"Dream Sky High" (lyrics to song sung by David Archuleta)

So much of life's a mystery to me
Yet, somehow so clear.
Questions with answers deep in the heart..
Like, why are we here?
What can I do that will matter most?
What can I say to make your day?

One thing I feel I can say to you...
Keep up your faith, you'll find your way
Dream sky-high!
Ride the chances flying by,
Even angels dream sky-high
Of everything they long to try.
Dream it sky-high!

Time and again the doubts come along,
But why let them stay?
Everyone's far from who they could be,
We're all on our way!
Days we were strong we remember well, yeah..
Days we were scared, we live and learn.
Ask me the way and I will point above.
No matter what, that's where I turn,
That's where I turn.

Dream sky-high!
Ride the chances flying by.
Even angels dream sky-high
Of everything they long to try.
Dream it sky-high!

(Background) Dream

Keep up faith, yeah..
Don't you hide!
Don't you run!
No, no..
Everyday is your celebration.
Don't you ignore who you can be.
Soar your imagination.

Dream sky-high!
Ride the chances flying by.
Dream sky-high!
Even angels
Dream sky-high!
Ride the chances flying by.
Even angels dream sky-high
Of everything they long to try.
Dream it sky-high!

    Enjoy yourself, embrace your dreams,

So unique and compelling. We should all live our lives to the fullest! Because in the blink of an eye, it could be over for good! So I believe that embracing our dreams will take us further than we ever expected! Outstanding poem and congrats on winning the spotlight!!

    Maureen, your words,
    a mantra for life,
    a daily reminder.

    The inspirational young man,
    an excellent choice. Both Davids
    worthy this year, the inspiring
young man and the intellectual wit!

    Good

I thought it had impact on the thought processes. At least on mine anyway! Good job! You'll hate me for this but I voted for David Cook, not that the other david wasn't good, I just felt he was so young and ranking second he stands one hell of a chance at going places...look at clay aikan I think he's done better than rueben studder ever has
    Great poem...don't hate me ~mandie~

      Thanks, Mandie!

Hey, I like David Cook, too, and I certainly don't hate anyone who voted for him! Both Davids are very talented! It's just a matter of personal taste and which one's style is more appealing. I suspect David A. isn't exciting enough for some people. I like the fact that he's more comfortable singing ballads because he feels he 'connects' with the audience more with that type of song. I like when a singer makes me feel like he cares about what he's singing about. That is what I like about David A. I wish both of them a lot of success!

    Dearest Maureen,
Beautiful words you have penned my dear Soul Sister.
It would be wonderful if everyone took your words to their heart and lived them.

      Dear Joan,

I truly believe that happiness is within everyone's reach..the first step is believing that it's possible!

I hope Bob is feeling much better. Please let me know how he's doing.

Is that the little David? I know two David's are in the finals, I couldn't avoid it, (and yes I tried) it was all over the tv here.

Someone was crying? Did he take her money or something? Sorry.

The poem of course is simple wisdom we all should live by, so of course that means very few of us actually do.

Can I vote for you anyway? No I can't I tried that once and King Hugh threatened to have me beheaded (he forgot I am the executioner and well, there ain't no way I'm chopping off my noggin.

    Yeah, I'm done.

Yes, Yem, that's little David with the big heart. When David A. sings, women get emotional. They recognize the goodness in him and they respond to it. (I know I do!)

David A. is my American Idol (no matter who actually gets the title).

Thanks for letting me know you would vote for me if you could. I would have voted for you in the last contest if your poem wouldn't have myseriously disappeared. If you promise to leave your poems in future contests, I promise to not vote for you (if it makes you happy). Now I think I'm done.

    Dear Maureen,

What you have said is very true.
We should be grateful for each day,
performing what we're meant to do,
    remembering to thank and pray.

    To dwell upon life's negatives
will not produce a happy mind.
    Appreciating what God gives
    more likely happiness will find.

To be aware of Nature's beauty,
preserving all and not to spoil,
to carry out our work and duty
    brings recompense for honest toil.

True happiness will come to stay
if only we live in God's way.

Thankyou for your beautiful poetic expression of the recipe for happiness and for sharing your knowledge of it for the benefit of those who don't. I am bookmarking your poem and will use it with my weekend message today.
Applause, love and hugs, XXX Hugh.

      Thank you, Hugh!

It's good to hear from you again. I know you've been busy taking care of Edna and I'm happy she's making progress and is able to leave the house for a bite to eat now and then.

I love your poem about happiness and I'm happy you liked mine. It also makes me very happy to know that you are going to include my poem with your weekend message. I'm all smiles thanks to you! See ->

      Love and Hugs,
