You And Me Equals One

So close to the end, we had just begun,
A future so bright was now under threat.
Our close love union was coming undone,
Until Fate gave hope, the answer was set.

Your need a gift from me, something so pure,
An act of devotion from me to you.
The divine energy in veins, the cure,
Willingly given to you, my love true.

I was not prepared to let your love go,
Your arms are my fortress from the outside.
So now within you my life force does flow,
Joined as one our love is never denied.

We are in mind, body, soul and blood sealed,
The eternal hand fast made in stones’ field.

    A beautiful poem

A beautiful poem, beautifully written.  The flow, the word texture, the warmth of love and longing, even fear of losing, exudes from your words. Thank you for sharing this with us Corvus

    Nice, very nice actually!
A truly deep poem.. love with not only the heart but with everything else a human may possess.

    I loved this line:
"We are in mind, body, soul and blood sealed"

Excellent work, I really enjoyed reading your sonnet-like-poem.
Keep on writing and thank you for entering it in my contest,

    Nooni

I love the flow and rhyme of this... while I'm not familiar with the subject, I can tell first quality poetry without a guide... Wonderful (I'm running out of superlatives for you LOL)

      Thank you Ken.

The subject is my husband's, then boyfriend, near miss in a road smash with a 36 ton lorry, he needed blood and the only donor with a match was me. The quote just reminded me of those not so good days and how now we are like one in so many things.
