She was a goddess,
rising over her altar top,
with two plump offerings
granted to her and
laid out for me to worship.
Gold lam'e wrapped
an hourglass base,
in a tight heavenly form.
I longed to bend and kiss
these sacred orbs,
but I was a mere mortal,
simply admiring from afar,
the twin gates to her providence.
