Travels modes have changed with age
From speed of snail pace
To raging flash
Some as tin cans
Some as tanks
Matters not for purpose made
Being an emergency worker
Many scenes I've seen
Twisted metal in a heap
Some have walked away unscathed
Some crumbled under the seats
Or worse tossed and crushed beneath the mass
Where does one start
Cries ring out
Save me, help me, or not a sound
Pick and choose
Worst to least
Affect a body or memory
Victims riding
Victims saving
All affected by a strap
Seat belts save
More oft than not
Excuse and price can't buy back life

Thank you so much for posting this in my contest. For me, the last line pulled the whole piece together. I like this a lot.
