I See Hope in the Stars...

It was looking up at the stars
that night
That stopped me from wanting
to take my life.
I looked up at them and was stunned.
Suddenly, I came
to the profound realization
that there must be
something greater than my problems.
That something was God.
It would take some time for me
to learn this,
but eventually I did; and now
I look up at night
and see the hope of humankind written
in the stars.
For He who has numbered the stars
and calls them each
by name, and cares also for the sparrows
cares for us the same.
Actually, His care for us is greater,
for the sake of His Son:

His life and death, His agony and pain

was such that His love

for the rest of creation is outweighed

compared to the love

He has for us.

  • No. This is actually really good. It's clear. Shows people that if you wish on a falling star it might come true

  • HOODWINKED !!!

This is a wonderful poem of realized truth that gives hope and purpose in living. We are loved by our gracious Creator, an awsome thought by itself but to ponder just how deep that love is, its' truly beyond our comprehension, but the glimpses of it sustain us. Thank for sharing this wonderful poem of hope and delivery. Write on dear poet!

You have been Hoodwinked by the Poetic Bandits today because WE CARE!

If only I could find this faith when looking up at stars, but I'm getting there, I know that He cares about me and that He created this world for us. My favoutire line would have to be "For He who has numbered the stars
    and calls them each
by name, and cares also for the sparrows
    cares for us the same."

thankyou for entering and good luck

Beautifully written and what a wonderful exsperiance to have at such a young age I was 12 when I turned my life over to God. Long struggles yet I have kept my faith. and this write reminds me lso of that faith and how it was so easy to see the truth in Him as a young child.
