"Thank you, Toaster."

I met a friend today and
Metal never shimmered so brilliant,
Until man piqued in instant gratification.
With the need for speed,
Created "Now!" inventions,
How much better our baked bread is, with butter,
And smothered with impatience.

My friend works quietly with fire,
Doing what he can for breakfast.
The unsung mighty mini-oven,
Doesnt complain when you say,
"Without phones I'd not last the day",
And walk off with his golden brown ambrosia.

My friend and me,
We are akin, for always there,
Duty-bound, and inner-workings a mystery,
For an everyday job, our job done every day.
Toaster, this an Ode to thee and me,
The greatest inventions in history.

Author notes

My ego leaked into my creativity near the end of the poem there..
It sounds dumb perhaps, but the toaster is always there when you need him and does what he means to do.
How akin we are toaster..

    How Perfect!

We take our household appliances for granted something awful! Thanks for putting a grin on my face!
