She stood on the rocks like a great asylum
weathering the great blows
the ocean pounded against her.
Like roaring lions the beastly waves
clawed at her walls,
tearing through the night
while Poseidon
cracked his whip at their heels
with the lightning
of an angry storm.
But one turn of her head
and the darkness was pierced.
Persephone's delirious gaze
erupted into the space before her
taming the wild waves
into purring kittens on her lap
and the blinded monster
sank heavily
drowning in the tears he'll cry
once his senses return.
He slept on the shore like a crumbling hospital.
Failure washed over him
quietly, trying not to wake him.
A lavender sunrise
from across the sea
gently nuzzled
Poseidon's furrowed brow
whimpering into his ear
and decidedly surrendering
only to curl up beside him
and rest
at the foot of his being.
Persephone rested too
though her freshly polished lenses
kept ever watchful
teeming with the anticipation
of the next mortal attempt
to rescue her
from the dungeon
of the lighthouse in her mind.

This is good , however, the word hospital seems out of place. Happy trails

Wonderful
Such elegant words arranged with great imagery. I like the background you used too.
My favourite part:
"Like roaring lions the beastly waves
clawed at her walls,
tearing through the night"
Great write and an enjoyable read. Thank you.
