Sorry

SORRY

I say this word no doubt
A hundred times a day
Over silly little things I have no need for
And times when there is no need to say.

There are times however
When the word is not there
Where it should be said but isn’t
Making me look like I don’t care.

For all those things I say
For how I can sometimes be
I am very deeply sorry
And very happy you’re still with me.

I don’t always know what I do
Is as wrong as it is for you
So I go about thinking its small
-I go about being a fool.

I’m not saying you are perfect
Nor am I saying you are to blame
But you have hurt me too
That’s where we’re human, we’re the same.

But what I am saying is how I can drain you
Of your energy and strength making it hard to say
Things you should be able to say
Without having to resort to strong ways.

I don’t always think of the result
Of what my actions can cause
I don’t see the ripples in the pond
I don’t stop and pause.

I look at only how I feel
Something I’ve done for so long
Without seeing the hurt I dish out
With the things I do that are so wrong.

I’m sorry for the things that hurt you
I’m sorry for things that make you down
I’m sorry that I make you feel that way
Instead of what I see you as, which is, my king in his crown.

this poem is really deep and sometimes that word is tossed around too much like the word love is too, but when you need to say it or tell someone it, its hiding and you dont want to addmit, i like the decripiton you have put in this poem, good luck in the contest and keep writing, -Amy
