Time out? What is that?
When I was young, time out was something
my MOMMA got while I was at school.
I was there taking licks
from the principal who thought
the pranks I pulled were not so cool.
And I knew it wasn't over yet
cause then, he was gonna call my mom
and tell her what I did again.
And I also knew, when I got home,
She was going to make me sorrier
than I had ever, EVER been!
"OK, little girl, you just sit down
until you think that
you can do what I say"????
NO WAY! More like, "I'm gettin a switch
& I"ll use it till you can't sit down
for two or three days!"
OH, yea, and COUNT TO TEN,
like THAT one is really
gonna make them mind!
That would have SCARED me,
if my mom would have done that
to me all the time!
Give me a break, you know?
I'm not about abusing a kid
That's not what I am.
I just think that is why
God gave us our butts
and gave Momma her hands!

Oh how we were such little prankesters back then!!!!! I never did anything truly cruel or hateful but I also seem to always be in trouble of some kind.

I think back in the days when kids got a little butt beating, made a big difference in how they grew up. I am not talking about abuse at all, that I don't believe in, but a little hit on the butt made for a better child. Time out, really what is that? Some kids enjoy time, to them it means they don't have to do anything LoL. I really believe the old fashion way of doing thing are better. The kids sure had better manners back then. Not all but. a lot of children today are so out of control.
I enjoyed your poem, it sure was very nice to see something from you again. I hope you will continue writing. I missed you.
