So big is our city,
So large of a canyon,
So big of a state,
How plain our land is,
But life down every street,
Our little hidden treasures,
So sly and clever,
Rough for our desert,
Oh! how others mock us,
How others taunt us,
Saying how dry,
How ugly,
How empty our home is,
They are stupid,
They do not know,
Of our rivers and streams,
Of how they shine and gleam,
How clueless they are,
Saying how empty,
Not knowing of our beast,
Of our birds,
Our wolves,
Our Fox's and kits,
Of their beauty,
And their endurance,
How uneducated,
To say we have no history!
What of our canyon,
The Pueblo,
Of Holiday and Earp,
Or Mr. Wayne,
Of our saguaro,
Our flag,
Our beautiful bird?!
Oh how you say,
Arizona is not a place,
Oh how you say it is empty,
And ugly,
How it has no place,
Oh what a fool!
You know not of our canyon,
Our cities,
Of Tucson,
Of Tombstone,
Of Phoenix,
Or Yuma!
Oh just come over,
See this paradise,
Feel the sand,
The glorious rain as it showers the earth,
Oh how wrong you were,
For Arizona is only too marvelous a place.
