We used to play
Outside all day
Oh, the good times those were
When I woke in fright
In the middle of the night
The first place I’d go is to her
How things have changed…
My father left
Didn’t know him much
But apparently she did
For she fell pretty hard
And flipped over the drinking card
Vodka, tequila, you name it
It was in the ‘fridge
Pitiful thing now
Almost jumped off the bridge!
I should have let her do it…
Complains, she does
All the time
Headaches that never go
Away
It’s the alcohol I say
I’ve had to spoon feed her
Every now and then
Tucked her in at night
Here and there
And she was never the same
But life cannot be fair
Once, she hit me
She was sorry, sure
Hugged me to death, nearly!
Choked up on her liquor
Fell down the stairs once
Hangover so bad
I missed 4 days of school
Taking care of her
But I guess that’s alright
It passed in a blur
Bad liver killed her
They think
“I’m sorry for your loss”
No you’re not
You think she
Deserved to die
Well that’s alright
So did I.
