in the land of ice and bergs,
blue hued floes;
gray seas foaming shaded waves
bear black and white penguins.
frostbitten digits on men;
land of the midnight sun;
painted images in mind's eye,
fields of wildflowers dancing
in warm breeze, keep monotony
from iced brain waves.
years spent digging for
liquid gold;
hot human lovers are
memories away.
superimposed beauty,
colors of rainbows,
stoke the fires long lost.
