Grey skies in the morning, I look up,
And the wind sings, Alexander;
Taking a sip of tea from the cup,
I see a lonely salamander
Walking along golden blades of grass
And the wind sings, Alexander.
In rhythm with the swaying branches
As the sun begins its daily slumber,
My heart beats fast as I am quite anxious;
The trees bend their ears in audience…
And the wind sings, Alexander;
My heart stirs within my soul.
Dancing to the rhythm of the song.
The melody my face enthralls.
The sun seeps through the trees and all along
My heart and soul sings in unison to the tune of Alexander.
Joy! Joy! At last my heart beats in rapture!
My soul sings to the tune of my darling, Alexander.
