Sonnet

Why can't you see? This only can be right.
I travel day and night;I am love's gypsy.
Alone, I scour the land-my moonlight flight
To the land beyond your eyes-my heart is tipsy.
For if my search yields none, my soul shall die;
Torn by the thorns adorning love's sweet rose-
The rose is you! Listen;you may hear my cry.
Why, for others, must you duly pose?
If only you would listen,my love.
You'd hear my words-delicate, like a flower:
In a nest of crows, you are the purest dove-
How, then,must you have such worldly power
Over me-for you hold to cease never.
My sole wish-to know you true, and forever.

Author notes

My English class was given a list of words to form a sonnet from-so please excuse the words on the end of each line! These are the ones my class came up with, so they are not my personal preference. I hope you like this sonnet!

    Overall a lovely sonnet. I hope you will keep writing and sharing.
