When do I love you more?

What time to choose?
Mornings, when I see you yawning
naked, stretching arms to hold the skies,
scratching your unshaved chin and looking my way?
Or, when you slap my bare ass on my way to the bathroom
just because you want and you can
and then wait to comb my hair
wrap me and dry me like a baby inside a warm towel?

Maybe, when over the plates with blue and yellow flowers
we share the food and the passion of last night with wordless smiles
only?
Or when we clean the table together?

Oh! I know!
It is when you call to say that soon you will be home
and together we listen to music
and you sing off key words of love to me
followed by
the silence with you...
even the silence with you is so nice!

It is when you hate seeing me sad and frowning,
when you steal sweet wine and waffles from my lips
with the softness of your kiss,
our fingers twined to knots!

It is when we walk, when we caress softly and wildly
and steal intimate touches
sharing childhood stories, friends' pictures,
past love secrets... kids, dogs, cats, favorite flowers...
our endless talks and whispers during sleepless nights...
and then, after exploding barrels of lovemaking powder
when I watch your calm face
asleep, slowly breathing,
because
in your dreams... you call my name!

Yes, this is great poetry and it totally complies with the contest concept of intercourse and outercourse, Sonja – well done.

I liked the way you’ve approached the prompt…. The poem is sensual (it moves between yawning and slapping..), yet the love here is so very evident – all those little things that bind and create and wrap us in love and intimacy – it’s all here. Yes, you do know and speak the “language”. This is what we were looking for – wonderful!

    Thank you for this entry.

I like this, in the act of trying to choose you count many wonderful attributes. Affection added to anything makes beauty. You show this so well.

Beautiful & deep, as always. Good luck in Nic's contest, my Friend. Wanda

  • Outstanding

I liked how you combined a sensual poem with everyday life making even the mundane romantic and unforgetable. Love is not only about passion but sharing your life with someone special and this is what this poem talks about - shared moments that are precious to us. This poem is almost spiritual and I loved the intensity and the gentle tone of the poem. Best of luck in the contest.

  • I like how this is in answer to your love...like he might have just asked you this...and these answers seem spontaneous & fun...beautiful poem

    ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!

This is the very best of marriage and relationship. What can one say except that each line touches their own thoughts about their own loved one.

  • You certainly replied to this question in your own poetic style Sonja! What a piece of romantic beauty! I liked it! THANK YOU SONJA!!!

Thanks to you for your kind visit to my shores of poetry. I am glad that you like, as you said, my poetic style. I never was thinking of my style, my writing mostly depends of temporary mood.
