September's End

On again off again
afternoon breezes
cast light and cloud
shadows over the day.

Yellow leaves in
rivers of wind swept
across the sky blue seas
floating clouds like ships
of cotton candy sailing
from the shores of summer
to the high seas of fall.

Those leaves in landfall
swirl in dancing pirouette
over velvet green,
brilliant fairy ballerinas
in copper sunset luster.

Turning in to horizon
summer’s fingers lose
their last grip on the world
and fall’s first shadows
fill in lavender
just behind the sun.

The crisp breath of night
chases after a falling
crescent moon.

This makes me think of a dream like vision I once had... A very vibrant and well painted piece of imagery and thoughtful depth. Wonderfully penned!

    Wow...
    I am speechless.
What more can you add to something so perfect? So complete in every sense of the word?

I can't believe this didn't win gold!!! You need to save up your talent for my contest coming up in July... I know you'll do well in it. LOL.

I am definitely beyond impressed with this one. As everyone else stated, you are a master. But I knew that from the first poem I read by you.

Ah! In this colorful Poem ...

autumn became intertwinted with waves of river of wind, clouds, ocean, sun ... and falling moon ... And in the release of the leaves, summer let go of its sultry grip and turned mellow, turned autumn, dancing its rustic ballet.

What a wondrous, vibrant poem, filled with movement and music. Well done, Poet.

(Here in South Africa, September is my birthday month, filled with spring, jasmine and early roses ... but I love autumn ...)

    Blessed be.
