There was a moment
When he was about eye level with the door frame
When he reached the full momentum of that toss
When he felt his stomach catch back up with the rest
When he sought somewhere to land other than stairs
When he hung there for that split second
There was a moment
When he realized he really shouldn’t have said anything
When he opened his mouth and forgot to insert the foot
When he was in the hospital waiting room bloodied
When he thought about it all
There was a moment
When he came to the conclusion that
He really should have kept quite at that moment
And that he would no longer frequent that bar

Thank you for entering my quotes contest. This is very well written and a great take on the quote, but I did find a typo.
He really should have kept quite at that moment
should be:
He really should have kept quiet at that moment
