The Bathroom

I step gracefully into the room,
Feeling, free and turned to beautifying
Myself, for it is gone the dragging hours until half past three.

I gladly approach the bath with a spring in my step,
Letting the cool water wash over me
It feels so... Light! And Springy!

Then suddenly,
The room darkens.

Without a warning,
A long hairy leg, unlike my beautifully shaven one,
Intrudes upon the bath in which I lie,
And I cry! Aloud!!
For this menacing thing
Will take the space that I currently lie in;

The horror music starts and then abaits
as the creature and I sit and wait
For the other to make the first slow move -

Then I get up and realise I'm not in the mood
To be troubled by a creature so inferior to I!
I shall stand in the bathroom and hold my head up high!

I clamber from the bath as quick as I can
And stand a few inches away from its slippery little 'hand'
Crossed arms, defiant chin turned up,
I glare at the spider...
And it scuttles right back up!

Author notes

My experience in the bathroom yesterday evening after school. Not nice.

I sense the horror... the terror... the microcosm of society encapsulated in your allegorical tale of inferiority.... I think i could pass my english exam on that comment
    Ahem...
it amused me actually, this bit particular:
'A long hairy leg, unlike my beautifully shaven one,
Intrudes upon the bath in which I lie,'
    Hehe.

P.s. I hope your ok after school today.

    Love and Maahs.
