If I had known fullness . . .

trembled
beneath the heat of your fingertips
until my soul boiled up to reach you,

or cherished
your smooth breath on quiet, night air
as skin, glistening in moonlight,
warmed from the closeness. . .

I might have noticed
that you are gone.

this is a powerfully sorrow filled poem.....it is hard to miss something we never had....and in this case..never having had these experiences in this poem ..is even a more sense of emptiness...excellent..congrats on the silver
