Mindless chatter
unnecassary things
the whirlwind of culture
simply death on the wing
Dead-eyed people
walking without seeing
grasp the refuse of life
from righteousness fleeing.
Numbly we continue
down this path of doom.
We speak of the joy
and the light of the gloom.
Never knowing we are living
a fate worse than death
we befriend the grim reaper
and we smile as he steals our breath.
