slow, go slow...

Sitting atop an edifice of emotions
looking at me with pellucid eyes
sleep-soft and sure
tossing petals in a pool of pleasure
watching the warm waves ripple
across the reflection of my body

as I trace fingers down
to curve of hip from nape of neck
then travel up the vein of trust
to the heart
pause to listen with hand
sharing the soul song of

kindred spirits

slow, go slow...

I fuel your liquid leisure to measure
all the flowing love
then finger rub the treasure there
and touch your heated tongue
with Hershey kisses
melding with care while you circle
mouth to mouth partly open
waiting to please

If a moment could hold a touch
and play it again for me
I'd capture it with a sigh and rewind
to touch the tender places
one by one              again and again

slow, go slow...

her skin reflects the meadow dew

as I breathe in her feathery hair

like a flower      as she blossoms

and some essence that burns in her
affects me similar to

the nape of her neck
which is my haven    hallowed now
almost reverent

she could sense me now with eyes
closed                          worshipping
as I again nurture her secret garden

Gentle, soft and sensual, this is a lyrical poem of love shared.

I might make you blush, Nicky, but I was thinking of Karma Sutra while reading this poem. I liked the slow pace here, and of course the “rewinding” – therefore the title is just perfect.

Some wonderful touches of alliteration here too and you’ve applied it very well – just enough. I really liked the romantic feel of this poem and the fact that you’ve managed to show intimacy without progression to the physical act – well done. I can see that you truly understand the concept of intercourse and outercourse. A lovely poem that is both sensual and tender.

    Thank you for this entry.

The use of liquid terms enhance this sensual write, your phrases accentuate the slowness for which you ask. So well done. Best of luck in the contest.
