Bitter wrenchings of the core
I came to you, beaten and sore
you didn't know it though,
I tried my best to not let it show.
With your gentle nonchalant behavior
Baby, you made me better.
Like a serum, injected deep within,
you purified me of all my pain and sin.
The notion surprises me
such a small time, yet you cured me.
The loneliness I felt habitually
now evaporated, hopefully eternally.
Your kiss, your touch, your everything
It was enough to revive my being
I'm so happy at your side
I'm very glad I hadn't shied.
Beside you, holding you, cuddling close
my heart pounds and my nervousness shows
Come a little closer baby
I wanna feel you beside me
I wait for your call each day
because I can't wait to hear you say
"Katie, I love you"
