Maddy was sad, so sad was she
She came and sat down right beside me
There were tears in her eyes
Great sobs were her cries
I asked Maddy if she'd been stung by a bee
Maddy said 'No' That is not it
Crying beside me she continued to sit
So I held on to her hand
I said 'I'll understand
But tell me, have you been hurt or hit'
Maddy looked up, 'No' she did say
'I know when to duck and get out of the way'
'I have no sister at home'
'I always feel so alone'
'I just wish I had someone to play'
'Oh' I cried 'That's not a problem at all'
'Come with me now and let us play ball'
So we stood up to run
oustide to have fun
And Maddy is lonely no more
