Number one: to feed you
I must provide cushions
and strokes and such
perseverance
Not that there was
no milk -
now you are grown
I can see that it
was the fridge
you wanted to open
and choose something
more complicated
Number two: to feed you
I must provide me
and strokes and such
relaxation
there was
so much milk -
now you are grown
I can see that it
was the closeness
you needed to open
and choose uncomplicated
cuddles
Number three: to feed you
I had ease of provision
sleep and play
early morning feeds
we slept
in milk -
now you are grown
I can see that it
was the peace
we needed to make
uncomplicated
decisions
Author notes
My three children have remained, in personality, almost exactly as they seemed at the moment they were born. You can bend and mould what you have with them but essentially, they are who they are, and are totally loved and respected as such.

haha yes, I've heard that a person's personality is pretty much set by the time they enter kindergarten .. I believe it, my kindergarten reviews said I was "bubbly, and full of interest, but has trouble focusing on what she's supposed to be doing" .. that's me to a tee!
Thank you very much for your entry! -
This is great, I like how you did it in three stanzas reflecting in some way your three experiences with three breast feeding babes and I totally agree that they come out as they are. Lol and how.

I love this, it has the warm intimacy of the moment. Also, I think your recognition of the different personalities and needs of your children is exemplary.
