HiS CaLL

He told me he loved me
And that he'd be home soon
How was I supposed to know
He wouldn't be
Ever
Ever again

He told me
It would all be over soon
How was I supposed to know
Our president would keep him there
To be shot
And killed

He believed in what he fought for
And he died for that belief
Is this how all our soldiers
Will be?
Will anyone come home?
Or is our president trying to wipe out
The faces of America?

I know I am not the only one
Who could only wait
For his call
Waiting just to know he was okay
Now all I have to treasure
Is his last call...

Author notes

Robby got shot in his left hand while putting up those walls. I'm just glad he wasn't hurt worse. Unfortunately, the wound got infected, and he's pretty sick, so he can't come home yet, but I know he'll be coming home soon. The only problem is, he was one of the ones having to unhook the wall from the crain while a hold bunch of shooting was going on. It's so scary out there. I pray for him every day and I treasure every call he gets to make.

    SO SPECIAL!!!!

Indeed our loved ones are there because they feel they have a duty which they gladly go and do. The danger is real and we worry night and day until they come home. But at the same time we are so proud of them for they go and give up to and including their lives for people who they may never meet. It truly takes a very special person to do that.
