I thought she was happy
Couldn't see past her disguise,
Thought her eyes were smiling
But many tears she cries.
I wish I had known earlier
I wish I had realized
Didn't see the pain hiding
Behind those smiling eyes.

I'm really not a fan of the rhyme in this. It just doesn't do anything for me.
That said I do think that this had a lot of feeling behind it, shame and sadness.
