My soul cries out in anguish,
for I have been betrayed by the one I love.
He has abandoned me.
Perhaps only in solitude could I truly
learn to cherish You, my Savior.
Jesus, lover of my soul,
where are you this night?
You, O Lord, are the Prince of Peace.
Please, sweet Jesus, could you spare some for me?
It was easy to believe in sovereignty
when my life was as I thought it should be.
The world is watching me in this time of great trial.
God, they know I love you.
God, they've heard me speak your NAME.
Give me joy, give me strength,
for I have none of my own.
Do not let me fail you.
So that the world will see You are enough.
So that my heart can feel You are enough.
Because my head already knows.
Author notes
This was my prayer when I found out two weeks before my intended wedding that my fiance' had gotten another girl pregnant. Needless to say, the wedding was off.

I really like this, the way you asked God to be close and near and how you deeply believe in his love and gentelness.
I wish the best for you, and sorry about the wedding but as i always say to myself: even if somethings we thought were good for us and were taken away, God might have known better and by taking them away he has protected us. -
