A constant one-note tone sings,
a statue silently screams.
A sheet of rain the sky brings
then tears itself at the seams.
Lightning never strikes the same place twice,
then why is this stone struck again?
What is this unknown tormentors price?
Does the statue have to crack under pain?
A flash, a wail, a piercing cry
paper intact from the ashes.
the mended sky, the paper rain
the last lightning bolt flashes.
Concrete angels and suicide notes?
a last attempt to fly?
The obvious knowledge of pointless hope...
why do angels deserve to die?
Author notes
"concrete angels and suicide notes"
Entirely metaphorical for something a lot more personal.

It's a pretty haunting piece...made me shiver when I read it. I like the structure (as usual) because it is simple and easy to read, I like the unusual topic area because it is...unusual, I like the whole poem because it's short and sweet.
And in answer to the poem, angels have to die for evil to survive. Without evil in the world, there would be no need for good, and without good, where is the division between right and wrong? It's like Ying and Yang (the Japanese symbol). Without one Ying (light) there cannot exist a Yang (dark). There is an angel and a devil inside each and every one of us; some choose to walk the path of righteousness, some choose the path of darkness....some are able to embrace both, and live at peace with their demons.
Okay....I went off on one there lol I was going to write more, but I felt I was getting a little too into the poem lol
Good work, keep it up
