Hopelessness

With the world beneath my feet

I look beyond the horizon, beyond the valley so deep.

A hopeless glimmer of life’s miseries beseeches me.

Oh yonder, beyond I keep searching,

Is there a sanctuary for this reckless search for spirituality?

It’s just a mean divider of a life long gone, or a life long lost.

Is this a meaningless search for an identity that is beyond the depths of the sea?

Or is it beyond the highest mountain above the zenith so cold?!

I reckon this is all there is to life.

It baffles me.

Speak! Or listen if you have ears.

Ears that have not been stained with the blood of countless killings done intentionally.

Ah! The heart bleedeth, the soul searcheth.

Oh what miserable lives we lead, like lil specks of dust.

Casting ourselves against a tide that has long washed us to the shore,

Unintentionally bringing mirages alive in the desert.

They say true happiness cannot be bought!

Is it?

But life has taught me otherwise – warned me against the flaming repercussions,

Like boughs hanging attached to a tree.

Not having taken heed of it had stirred up feelings within me that I wasn’t aware of,

A burning desire to conquer the world,

And set its inmates free.

A feeling of materialistic happiness is something that I have been hankering for,

But each lil miserable speck of dust have their own human frailties,

But at the end of it I come to the forward realization that life is one big massive joke-a miserable wretched life.

Even with spinning out a magic wand that can be cumbersome,

The soul still searches and searches,

still waiting, hoping and praying – is there more to life?

You tell me ‘cause i'm still searching.
