Warm Loving Glow

Among the darkness came a light,
Shining delicately upon my heart.
Slowly, carefully, clearing away cobwebs;
Ones not so easily torn apart.

T'was easy for you to accomplish,
Faltering steps you rarely seemed to take.
Naive was I to your ministrations,
Ensnared soon by love in which I wake.

Love so bright and plentiful as the stars,
That night can no longer exist.
Warmth so sweet and tender,
I pray not to resist.

So hard I tried not to fall,
To not be lost in your embrace.
I was finally unable to resist true love,
Forevermore I wish our hearts to interlace.

You are what brings the smile to my face,
It is you who I look to in this cold world.
You who I wish to forever be by my side,
Next to whom passion shall be unfurled.

I thought that I had loved before,
Yet never as pure as my emotions now.
You, the one I cannot live without,
With whom I would share my vows.

No matter the roads traveled,
No matter where life leads.
You stand true within my heart,
You're all I'll ever need.

Author notes

So... I'm absolutely in love with my girlfriend. So very much in love, that she is as important to me as my immediate family is. I don't know that I've ever felt such a pure love for anyone before. ♥

Please tell me what you think

this is simply beautiful. i think you forced the rhyme a little bit, but otherwise, this is spectacular. You did wonderfully with the idea and it is very well communicated. i wish you two the best.
    blessed be

Yeah, the rhyme was forced in spots. Been two years since I wrote so I gave myself that leeway to push it this once. ^^; Thank you for the comment though!
