single needle vs. machine

Pistols soaked in ashy pools
of Washout Empire.
Simple men with simple rules
toss ink bled through wires.

Chloe gone, gone from the fool,
name still branded on the hips.
Covering nostalgia with one tool
as enclave slits her lips.

Below fractured tribal swims a Koi
in abdomen champagne glass.
A random quote from Tolstoy
printed on the front of a Chinese mask.

Humming impalers sing with punk-rock,
yet the tiles scream glam-rock hue.
Gauze wraps arm like split shotgun stock,
witch hazel casts spells on eyes of blue.

Xerox splits features of office brat,
dressed rather meek for an exec.
Seven more visits will cover the lats
with a name of the girl just met.

Who can't relate to this really? Well, alot of people most likely but I can Tattoo is my other art passion, along with piercing really but that's a whole seperate story. Your imagery in this piece was fantastic, it's a rare occasion where I can say the picture did not do your words justice. Congratulations, you have awed me.

^___________^ i love this one... the tattoo & the poem. the boy has been talking me into going with him to get some professional ink. it's kind of scaryyyy considering i don't really know what to expect & i've heard it can be addictve.

"Seven more visits will cover the lats"
    last?

do you really put girls names on your body?

ink is a good thing, and it only is addictive if you get the right thing done...as far as consideration into what to get, I suggest the artist to draw up something unique...if he/she is good, then it can be done...anything off the wall is probably inked on someone else, if not a hundred other people....also, the size should correspond with the body part, nothing says "whoops" like a small tattoo on a large appendage...quite tacky, i must say,,,,
and it is supposed to be lats, for the muscles...glad you enjoyed this one

haha, is that to say that a tattoo should cover the appendage it is on? i already have some ideas of what i want to get done... some of which includes some scarification.

        i didn't think of that one... ^_^;

    Great write ...

but I'd put an "of" in front of "blue" in line 18. Otherwise, I think you've nailed it. Good luck in the contest.

I'm not into needles of any kind (other than for sewing) but I know many people who have every inch of skin covered with pictures or names...lol
