Together Forever

They say my lover passed away,
It’s true I feel my broken heart.
He’s gone to make a place to stay,
where we will never be apart.

It’s true I feel my broken heart,
for I’m afraid to be alone.
I know the love that I impart,
will never be a milestone.

He’s gone to make a place to stay
where we will spend eternity.
I talk to him when e’re I pray
and feel the love he has for me.

Where we will never be apart,
is where I know I’ll be someday.
He’ll make for us a brand new start,
my lover never passed away.

Author notes

Earthstar, I like Nyetta know exactly what you are going through. You are not alone and when you leave us, you will rejoin him. God Bless you.

Retourne:
Like so many other French forms, the Retourne is all about repetition. It contains four quatrains (four-line stanzas), and each line has eight syllables. The trick is that the first stanza's second line must also be the second stanza's first line, the first stanza's third line is the third stanza's first, and the first stanza's fourth line is the fourth stanza's first. Retournes do not have to rhyme.

Such a beautiful sad and yet hopeful poem. If I had lost my lover this is what I would want to be told.

Indeed, in the context of the whole, the passing of a loved one is but a brief moment, as when reunion does raise its joy the time seems but naught. And the step into reunion is as easy as stepping over a spilt rail fence into another pasture, filled with wildflowers. Once you do, you never glance back for all which is important and meaningfull lies ahead of you in yon tree line.

Very, very VERY lovely write Amera
