Manifesto of the Dark Lady

The woman who is not a paradigm
is the woman I want to be:
Blurring the expectations of patriarchal
society, yet becoming a duality and perpetuating
it instead of conforming to a two-dimensional
ideal is far better.

The dark lady is far more interesting:
relevant and real, pulsing with life,
and tinged with death-- compared to the
fleeting and often illusory "goodness"
of the fair maiden. Rather than be bleached
out in a numbus of virtue, the dark lady
is brought out in her various hues
of seemingly "impure stain",
shades emphasize her curves.

The symbol of the dark lady is actually
the apex: she seduces the audience and
actors, catalyzes the plot's climax,
acting as contrast and mirror to the virtuous;
she is the reason the fair maiden
is made all the more desirable, for without
the taint of the dark lady, the fair
maiden is not so fair and shining after all.
