Story of Truth

shivering truth is born
clad in summer dress
numbly exposed
with desires only of
shelter and oblivion

illusions of reality
freezes tears to snow
before falling to the page
as she reads the scripted
sorrow of snowy print

across the paper hills
and valleys of her life
stumbling through
deeply rooted words
searching for herself

Words mean different things to different people but, the beauty of them is this... we can all find ourselves somewhere in between those lines that touch our soul most deeply... This is a buauty!!!

The imagery here is very very beautiful. I like this part:

    illusions of reality
    freezes tears to snow
    before falling to the page
    as she reads the scripted
    sorrow of snowy print

The stanza above really stood out for me. The whole piece is very deep and quite dark too. There is a sadness within which I seemed to pick up on. Very well-written indeed.

    Good luck in the competition

Beautiful in imagery and metaphor. Your poem reaches deep into the reader’s soul and opens a portal to thought.

Interesting take on the prompt. Very nice personification. I had not ever considered truth as seeking shelter and anonymity. Imagery of her tears forming snow on the pages below, and finding them "scripted sorrow of snowy print" is intense. Nicely done alliteration.

Outstanding third stanza is my favorite, lovely metaphor and descriptions.

This again is an amazing poem. "across the paper hills and valleys of her life" is such beautiful imagery and metaphor. All the entries are really giving me a rough time, as none are ones I would ever eliminate. I will have to add more awards. Thank you so much for your entry.
