On A Cold Winter's Night!

On a cold winter's night,
Jack Frost did come up.
Children were sleeping,
all snug and warm in cozy beds.
A chill whistled sharp through the air,
while parents settled in for a long winter's nap.
Stockings were hung up with care,
by the Christmas tree.
St.Nicholas was checking his list,
to see which girl or boy was naughty or nice.
The reindeers were restless,
so anxious they all were.
To take a winter snow sleigh ride,
all through the cold winter's night.
It was almost that special time of the year,
when some magic hung in the air.
Soon St.Nicholas would be there,
flying fast through the air.
Down through the chimney,
soon he would go there.
In the morning the children would rise,
with a skip and a hop.
They would throw open the window,
and rejoice in the sight.
St.Nicholas would be singing...
"Happy Christmas to all,and to all a good-night!:

    Jack frost did come up.
    Children were sleeping,
all snug and warm in cozy beds.
A chill whistled sharp through the air,

I could feel the cold wind upon me! A wonderful write that got me in the holiday mood!

A very festive and seasonal poem, good use of lines from other famous pieces. This poem sets the scene for Christmas well.
