Great World (Celebrate Differences)

Desolate beauty
enraptured by blue
virginal and primal
sophistications few.

Spirited by greed
golden dreams sought
some fueled by integrity
though pride's never bought.

From goldfields to drovers
who herded the stock
to Aboriginees and The Bush
and "Picnic at Hanging Rock."

Folklore is varied in this vast land
as mighty as its people
on the shores which they stand.

History molds its people and life.
Folklore's their way of dealing with strife.

Learn about culture
embrace something new.
Accept differences to make
a much better you.

Touch others around you
with grace unfurled.
Remember most important
we are ONE WORLD

Author notes

I chose Australian folklore to write about..I think if people would take the time to learn about others cultures that the world would be a much better place. Mostly differences frighten people..whereas they have always fascinated me. Mostly I am about PEACE and I try to weave that mantra throughout my poetry. We are writers with a purpose..to educate..education eradicates fear and descrimination..Differences should not be feared ..only embraced...to make us better...
namaste..(hindi greeting )(I see the light in you)
this simple saying has touched me..from a very different culture..
I have not touched on specific Auatralian Folklore in detail..merely made mention of how folklore can be used to bring different peoples together..
I hope this is what you are looking for in this round of the contest..I always try to bring my balance and mantra to my writes while endeavoring to keep it "real"

Blessings..
namaste..

    Bravo

I love this and the theme is spot on, yes we should all take the time to understand other cultures and peoples so that we can learn a new dance.

Beautifully written ...You are so right that people should learn about the cultures of others...We are missing so much by not doing so.
