Water Girl

I saw lake waters rise and form
Into a girl most statuesque,
With liquid earrings arabesque,
To roil my heart like some strong storm.

She danced upon that flat black lake,
Her head was crowned with coronets,
She twirled in luscious pirouettes,
From far shore to the nearby break.

She moved as might a lion’s mate
With strength and grace beyond all thought,
I nearly swooned when sunlight caught
Pellucid eyes of silver-plate.

And silver all her legs and thighs,
Of water her long fingers made,
As goddess in some masquerade,
To show a glimpse of Paradise.

Her hair like nothing ever seen,
Like liquid diamonds spun and spun,
With just the scent of cinnamon,
And fainter hints of tangerine.

She spied me in the rushes then
And covered up her nakedness,
She seemed in such acute distress,
Fell back into the lake again.

Please tell me what you think

I am hiding by the lake, seeing all the scene through the poet's eyes and loving every beautiful image. Wonderfully spun poem... made from diamonds and a brilliant mind. This rhyme scheme pleases me endlessly. It's a b b a... right? I must try one.
