Lemon Meringue Pie

lemon satin on the tongue
tart but sweet and creamy
alpine peaks of meringue
with a texture so dreamy

a frolic with citrus rush
you hesitate to swallow
the bites of heavenly mush
are shades of sunlit yellow

on which the angels might feed
hints of Vanilla flavor
forming a sweet amber bead
a drop your tongue will savor

I love lemon meringue pie
best dessert under the sky

Author notes

I have a recipe (handed down) that uses sour cream in the filling...yuummmmy!

Well, you thoroughly convince the reader why this should be a favorite dessert! Nicely employed senses of taste (sweet, citrus, vanilla, savor) and sight (peaks, sunlit yellow, amber) and touch (satin, texture, mush). Also, long my chosen birthday dessert! Yum!

  • you know i had to click in this poem lol hehehe at the picture, a slice! i would just eat the whole thing. a good poem here and yeah it is one of the best, mind you what teeth are left they are sweet
