He Threw Away The Stars

As a child he never liked the thunder
he would run every time it came...

the days grew tall
shuffling seasons and echoes

fear stretched his canvas
leaving shades of blue
for every tear she would cry

and he counted the days
oblivious
to the riddles behind their scars

his thoughts were drifting...

always the one convincing them both
they could hold onto the pieces
if the stars ever fell

but the first to let go...

and she loved his blue
yet ever in fear of this tempestuous wave

for stormy were their skies

he never liked the thunder
he would run every time it came...

Author notes

...she loved him more than he would ever know...

I hope this fits

  • Congratulations on the gold. Very good poem.

  • oh this was certainly well done, a great take on the prompt, not long or arduous in thought as persona poems sometime go, but smooth and mellow
the tempestuous wave, storm-filled athmoshphere set
a purely poetic tone to this piece,
indeed the blue shade embraces the theme of your words
    thank you for entering
