The trickle of tears, those left behind, unscathed, unrotten
A door has opened from old memories, time to dream anew
The old roads in the past. Now I see. My new stage, my debute
As I prepare to settle into a new place not alone anymore nor confused
A once broken path now I see it so clear, my heart, soul, and mind rescued
The purgatory I once lived is now left behind, my old skeptical ways
It is time to move on, time to live my life... as I now... turn the page.
Author notes
Believe it or not, this was inspired by the song "Turn The Page" by Bob Seeger. It was also inspired by my recent decision to move across state, 280 miles from the place I once called home.
"We make the best of what we have, therefore we live our life as we choose, free as we are, only trapped by our own limitations" -Poet of the Shadows 2008

i know you wanted me to comment, and it's one of those poems where you'd love nothing better than to do so, to write some long, praising paragraph, but it's also one of those poems where you really don't know what to say in your comment.
good job i guess is all i can say. it seems like a different style from your others. i liked it.

Now this is inspirational and motivational for all who seek a new day. To turn the page on history, whether bad or good, and step up to a new beginning is what makes us all wake up. Being true to yourself before you can be true to others. The only person who can make you do things is yourself, well done. A great piece here, and well worth the reading, thanks for sharing this one.

Very well written but sad seeming. I've moved away from a place that I called home once and it is a hard thing to do. The last line is good I like it. Mum told us that we were turning a page to our new life or starting a new book. So well done.
Keep up the great work
Emma
