She was never mine, I told him,
Watching his eyes for a flicker
Of something warm, but somehow
He was not sold, it was like I'd
Said something odd, and it invokes
That image in my head, it brings
Me there to that specific time,
The words rising to my lips, I
Love, no, she held a trembling
Hand across those lips, she was
Never mine, I think I know that
Now, but still I wonder how I
Managed to miss the signs, how
I failed to catch the awkward
Kiss, the awkward touch, the way
That Love got strangled by her
Tongue, she was never mine, I
Told him, still waiting for some
Word, some gesture, perhaps his
Sympathy, but all he said, his
Words outlined in light, echoing
In my dumbstruck ears, now I wonder
Why?

Good pace, the enjambments seemed to work, I wouldn't have capitalized every letter of every line in concern of the enjambments but it's understandable as to why you did.
A nice poem that you have written here.
