The silence haunts her
She can feel the hatred writhing deep within her
Bound by black ribbon and chain
Her monster is tamed;
But is it only temporary?
A look in her eyes tells it all.
The fires burn eternally inside her soul
The voices may be gone
But her torment is not.
Silence taunts her with its silent laughter
Blood is a permanent stain on her hands
Invisible to most
But clearly visisble in her brown eyes.
Her eyes reflect the world back into her mind
But all she sees
Is the blackness of a void inside.
She walks through the darkness
Silent, and waiting to be rescued.
She tries to rip off her mask
That covers her whole face and whole being
Her half soul.
This mask will not be removed by human hands
The monster still controls
The silence is deafening.
Author notes
Can you hear the silence, too?
