Tsunamic rise of emotions,
tears splashing eyelids
carefully banked by lashes,
clicking photos of farewell,
fate grins devilishly
as snaps not saved.
Heart desperate to cling to this moment,
my large eyes only stare,
your kiss on my cheeks
with all eyes on our troupe
of loud clamoring children,
makes me live each day with a smile
till we meet again.
Author notes
O love! O fire! once he drew
With one long kiss my soul through
My lips; as sunlight drinketh dew
~Alfred, Lord Tennyson
We never share public display of affection, but that kiss said it all...Hubby was leaving.

Aww.. at first I thought this was going to be sad... but then at the end I was smiling from ear to ear!!
That's beautiful hun... many do not like public displays of affection.. but something as sweet and genuine as a kiss on the cheek can surely bring the heart such happiness!!
I hope hubby is back soon!
